Just picked up and shot my new (new to me) Kel Tec sub 2000 (G17 type) today. Overall I was very impressed, but did have some minor issues with a few accessories I bought. I purchased some Korean PW Arms 33rd magazines for the Kel Tec for range use. I have seen various warnings throughout the net including THR regarding these mags. I kept them partially loaded for a few days to "break in" the spring. The magazines constantly failed to seat rounds properly, about every 3rd or 4th round. I expected this type of performance so I wasn't terribly surprised. I will keep them for range duty, but use them for self defense I will not. They might come into their own after some further break in...time will tell. My Glock factory mags posed no issues what so ever. I also purchased a 17rd Kahn magazine, had some of the same problems, fyi. Odd point, the two different brands were packaged identically...makes me think they are made in the same place. Thoughts? All in all I am initially very impressed with the Sub 2000, hope to get a lot of use out of it.

I had a Sub 2k and was less than impressed, the red plastic sights limit the accuracy and make low-light shooting a guessing game. I also find the drop of the stock very awkward but that is the draw back of the in-line folding stock.

I have to say, that this was the only Kel-Tec I owned that worked flawlessly and it was fun to shoot.

I have a 40 version. The problem I had with the 30 round Korean mags is they were too fat to easily insert in the mag well. It was a guess if they were seated properly or not. I got out the sandpaper and slimed them down so they would go in the mag well easily, like a regular Glock mag, and they worked just fine from then on. The inline stock interferes with my muffs so when I shoot the rifle, I use ear plugs.....I agree, that red sight post sucks. I painted mine black....chris3

PzGren I will agree that front sight just makes me nervous all around, hard to pick up, and plastic against hot metal. I know of several owners who have replaced their front sight to an improved setup, I don't think I will go that far, but I might do some hi vis paint on it. The stock was less than comfortable, but not a huge set back for me. The korean mags did fit pretty easily, I looked them over after I got back from the range and I think a little modification is in order to make them feed properly

I had bought my Sub2k for $225 with a 10rd G17 mag and have a good amount of original Glock 31 and 33 rounders for my various 9mm Glocks.

Those worked really well in the Keltec, a little too well, actually.

My sons each blasted three mags empty in way less than three minutes and while I enjoy reloading, I could not keep up with that rate of fire...but it is fun.
