I had a couple of new guns to try out at the range this past Monday. One of them was a Mossberg 535 with the vent rib barrel and the slug barrel. That gun was what I expected it to be....worked perfectly, no surprises good or bad.
The other gun that I bought for fun and brough with me to the range was a Hi Point 995TS. As you may know, these are cheaply built, American made carbine rifles with a lifetime warranty. There were 4 of us that went to the range.....me (46), my 16 year old son, a friend from work(40), and his dad (mid 60's). Without exception, everyone's favorite gun to shoot was the Hi Point! We put about 250 rounds through it...all different types, FMJ, Hollow Point, +P....pretty much everything. It functioned PERFECTLY. It was also surprisingly accurate. I can't say enough good about the Hi Point carbine. It's cheap, fun, reliable, and accurate....AND made here in America. If you're looking for a fun gun, take a look at the Hi Point.
Other guns that we fired were:
Smith & Wesson 686 6"
Colt Python 6"
CZ82
High Standard double nine .22 revolver
Glock (something or other 9mm - my friend's gun)
AR15
Yugo M70AB2
Browning over/under 12 gauge
Browning Citori
Mossberg 535 (slugs and target loads)
JC Higgins Model 60 12 gauge semi auto shotgun
Marlin 336 30-30
