Sorry 2ndamd I just saw your question. I myself designed and made the holster. Matches the laminated leather belts I make. Mostly I prefer to craft full flap holsters for cap and ball revolvers and other wheel guns, but I needed this holster and don't see a need to buy them under the circumstances. Thanks for the kind words too. Don.

Thank you too If1HtU. I grew up in Louisville. Back when there was some undeveloped space between J-Town and Hikes Point, and Bacon's was the department store all women knew. Don.

No experience with pocket holsters here --- maybe dumb question : do pocket holsters generally (or always?) require an untucked shirt for cover concealment , as IWB does?

I have a SP and have carried it over 20 years, just never in my pocket and probably never will. That's just too much weight for me. When its pocket carry time, I select an alloy framed revolver.

Depends on how deep your pocket is, and how big the gun is.

I have always enjoyed the Ruger SP101. I got one when they came out in .357 Magnum. Built like a tank!

I typically pocket carry a Smith and Wesson 642 due to weight in a horsehide pocket holster.

Especially in Spenard....

Or Mountain View, Fairview, and even in Muldoon. I worked swing shift in the 2000's and would not venture out to the deck at night in Muldoon without my 1911 .45 . Gunshots every night. We left in 2007, never to return.

I remember my early days in Alaska in the mid-seventies when we left our doors unlocked. Different day and age. Such a shame.

Jim
