I recently got hold of a .380 FN 1922 with somewhat unusual markings. It has all the usual stampings and proofs. The serial is 2132xx. And on the right side of the slide below the extractor claw is "EE" and a four digit number. Looking closer, though, I see that the second "E" is actually a greek epsilon. Or could it be a cyrillic character?
Belgian proofs. No nazi or waffenamt marks. This may be different than others I've seen: on the trigger guard web, again on the right side, there is a tiny numeral "5" stamped, and above that, a tiny number "7" in a square box.
Does anyone have any idea of the provenance of this pistol, or what the stampings might indicate?
Thanks
Paul
