So I found out doing research that G&G's were not blued from the factory so now neither is mine;)

Sure. Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms, item no 10-009, page 642 of the 9th edition.
Not everything you might want to know is on the internet.

Maybe some CSA specialist would know more... or different.
And of course, Mr Griswold was not hot bluing anything and the appearance would have been substantially different than Modern Italian.

Thanks Jim. That is one of my reference books that ran away from home quite a while back. Gonna have to hit Half Price Books next time I get to a city.

I don't think anyone knows definitely about these CSA revolvers. One of them may have been rust blued, heat blued, or left in the white. Most show no traces of bluing today that I am aware of

Yeah I always thought it was kinda up in the air one way or another. Mine looks cool like it is so she stays nekkid;)
Now I just gotta get a Leech & Rigdon so I can quit with 18 grain charges:banghead:
I actually searched around today and found that while VTI don't have steel '51 frames they do list the round config Pietta .36 cal barrels....
HMMMM, I do have a Navy:evil:
