National Buy Ammo day was Nov 19th.

Funds being limited this year, I got a half case of Silver Bear 223 from Aim Surplus (already arrived, wow!).

What did you get?

Scott

I ordered 500 7.62X39 the other day (11-20), but I didn't know it was buy ammo day the day before. I was just low on 7.62X39. :)

Had I only known that I was supposed to go out and buy ammo... Ah well, I didn't have any money anyways. I wouldn't have been able to participate. Maybe next year. Just give me a few days heads up because I know I'll forget.

Wasn't it Kim DuToit who promoted National Ammo Day?

Whatever happened to him, anyway? I thought I spotted him at a Tea Party rally here in Texas a year or so ago, but not altogether sure about it.

Great High Road responses.

On second thought, it's about what I'd expect from THR these days. This site is going downhill faster than BHO's approval ratings.

About 30 seconds of research would show that National Ammo Day is designed to impress upon both retailers and political animals just how many gun owners there are out there, and what an impact we can have on both the economy and the voting booth. An opportunity to display solidarity.

And just as clearly, a concept wasted and an opportunity missed.

It's good to hear that some people knew about it. I got an email from thegunsource.com on November 22, telling me that November 19 was national ammo purchase day.

Had I been informed on time I would have participated.

I hadnt heard of it either, I would bought some if I had. Maybe I'll buy some tomorrow to make up for it

It's that time of year again!

I got two boxes of 555 ct Winchester white box .22 LR! We won the election(s) and now .22 ammo is on the shelves (at decent prices too).

You may simply be mentioning two unrelated observations in one sentence. If so, forgive me for reminding you that .22 has been back on most shelves for months.

As for Nat'l Ammo Day, I buy ammunition all the time. It's my wife's birthday today, and any dough earmarked as disposable income went towards her birthday gift. Well, that, and I sent a little money to Missouri. Midway USA is having a Sale on Ruger magazines today...

Didn't hear about it 6 years ago; didn't hear about it yesterday. I thought this was supposed to be the great age of communication? Actually I wouldn't have had the time to do it anyways. Oh well will just have to get by with what I have already.

Record NICS and gun sales, how could the retailers and political animals have missed that?
Actually I had forgotten all about this. Thanks for bring it back up but I'm a day late and a dollar short.
