Need advice on my first carry gun

I've owned two of the previous versions of the Taurus G2 (used to be called the Millenium-Pro) and both were rock solid and very good size & weight for carry. The SA trigger with second strike capability is a good way to go. It's not a tuned 1911 SA trigger by any stretch of the imagination, but it is more than adequate to get hits on target inside of 15 yds.

I have a co-worker who has an SR9 and I was not impressed at all. Trigger was long and heavy.

Long ago when they hadn't been out long I shot a SR9 at a rental range. I didn't really like it. I remember though after that when they released the SR9C there was a lot of talk about how good the trigger was & that Ruger was going to incorporate that into the full sized guns. There were also peening issues with some of the early ones. That issue was taken care of. How good or bad the trigger on a particular specimen is might have a lot to do with when it was made. The lawyer safety features of the striker fired SR guns always annoyed me so I never bought one. I had a Taurus Millennium PT-111 G2. I did like the size & weight. I did not like the finish or the trigger so I sold it off after I got my M&P 2.0 C.
