This is not a for sale or trade thread.

I'm looking to replace a Springfield XD-40 sub-compact with 290+ rounds of various JHP and FMJ ammunition ranging from wolf to hydrashoks, 2 magazines, 2 holsters, a magazine reloader and double magazine belt holder (the usual XD accessories) with a 1911. All is in excellent condition (I didn't shoot it too much). I've been looking at 1911s lately and it's likely that I'll be replacing the XD with one. However, I will need to offload the little XD to raise funds for a 1911 + some ammo in the same price range.

It's not that I don't like the XD, I love it as a matter of fact and will probably end up with another one some day. It's just that a 1911 is... well... a 1911. :neener:

Never having sold, traded or placed a gun on consignment before, what would be the best way to go about replacing the XD+ ammo with a 1911 and a similar set of ammunition?

Tips or suggestions?

I have a G20c ive fallen out of love with, but have no clue on how to get a decent deal on getting some money back on it.
Local gun shop quoted in the low $300's and Budsbuyguns guide says $375-$400
But ive got a .40 conversion barrel and Wolf 20lb spring and steel guide also have +2 mag extensions with new springs. So i easily have $800 in the gun.

So any suggestions would be good.

advertise and sell to an individual then use the funds to get your new gun.. any shop will give you less than an individual in cash or trade value.

Basically where I am at this point, yes.

PT1911; thanks! Yes, the guys down at the local shop I was considering trading-in or consigning the gun actually told me straight up the exact same thing.
