I have tried to mount an LED Light on my Lee Turret press to be able to clearly see the powder in the case after charging it.

I had a clip-on light that I mounted on the primer holder and it helped but it didn't stay in position long.

Walkalong recently posted a pic of his light mounted on an LNL press. It was great, but the method he used won't work on a turret press.

Does anyone have a good permanent way to mount a light on a Lee turret press that isn't in the way, clearly lights up the powder in the case and stays aimed at the case???

Maybe you can use this mount on the frame tube of the Turret press or something similar - http://www.brightguy.com/products/Fenix_Bike_Mount.php

I made mine from a piece of steel- perforated steel, like a Stanley mending plate. I welded a flat washer to the end of it making a sort of lollipop looking gizmo. I hold a tiny freebie LED flashlight on the metal plate with a standard tiewrap. I mount it by loosening the top bolt that holds one of the uprights to the top plate and sticking the bolt through the washer.
Bend it how you want it.

bds: That's a slick looking mount, but there is very little available space beneath the turret. That's a neat sight for lights. They have one with a flexible neck that might squeeze in under the turret.

evan: That's not a bad idea and I can weld. Now the trick is to find the right light.
The light needs to be really small to clear all the moving press parts.

Rusty FN has a GED light mounted on his Lee Classic Turret press. If you search the threads you should be able to find a picture of it. If not, perhaps he'll see this thread and toss a picture of it up here.

I use a flexible LED mounted with sticky 1" Velcro that you can get at a fabric store. Works great stick the velcro on the press and on the light. Rechargeable batteries work really well to.

NuJudge: See, I wasn't thinking "outside" the box! Thanks

bds: Thanks. Rusty's set-up will work. Using the power supply is clever too.

NOW, I just need a long flex-neck LED light with a SMALL light-tip.

Jeez, there's a lot of solutions to this "problem". Go to Office Depot, Staples, etc., and check out their desk lamp options. It certainly doesn't need to be hi-tech or permanently mounted. Do a Google Images search for "desk lamps" and "clamp-on desk lamps", lots of nice options.

BDS & rongog: I actually looked at that one on-line, but the led 'cover/reflector' looks too big to mount it below the turret and clear of the ram. The flexible led 'tip' need to be minimum size.
Rusty's above looks about right. I haven't found one that small.

bds gave me this site and it has one that should work, but wierd batteries needed: http://www.brightguy.com/products/Streamlight_Stylus_Reach_18_Flashlight.php

but weird batteries needed
Those are AAAA (Quadruple A) 1.5 V batteries. You can buy them for around $4 for a pack of 2. Or buy some 9V battery at the dollar store and break open the battery, you will find 6 of them (1.5V x 6 = 9V). I think I saw them selling 2 pack of 9V for $1? You should be able to rig up to run on AA battery (rechargeable even better).

1SOW, this light does look like Rusty's LED light! :D He just have it powered by an AC adapter.
