I just recently got my second handgun and will be looking for a range bag so that I can stay a bit more organized on trips to my range.

I'd prefer something around the 50$ range. I've done some looking around and found a couple bags at midway but figured I'd get some input from you all.

Just for fun here is a pic of my newest handgun.

Caldwell Deadshot shooting bags's unfilled 25 buckx . Fill them with corn at home and your ready to go. Good bags. You get both front and rear bag for that price.

I think he's talking more about a bag to carry gear to the range.

I've seen the ones at Midway USA and they have one with 2 pistol compartments and 2 pistol rugs (not to mention a bunch of pockets) in the under $50 price range. I haven't had much luck looking at the big box stores locally.

LL Bean Tote

I have a 3-gun Strong Case gun box. (Which I got because my hockey bag would hide everything and I couldn't find anything I wanted.

I bought the Strong Case and I used to stuff it full of all the little things that go with a shooting outing. It was great to be organized!

Now however, it is almost only for the guns, and I now use a large L.L. Bean Tote bag. ~$35 heavy-duty,stiff, starched canvas for everything else. I like it because it is stiff. When it is placed down it remains open. Just look in a grab what I want. I don't think I can ever go back to the 10 zippered bags anymore. The Bean bag is lovely in its simplicity.

Nothing says it has to say "Range Bag" on it, and cost $50-$100 bucks to carry all your stuff to the range and stay organized.

I have used a freeby TWA carry-on flight bag for about 40 years.
And a couple of $10 buck Walmart gym bags.
And more recently, an old lap-top computer bag I wasn't using for a lap-top anymore.

It actually works really well, as it has extra zipper compartments for "stuff", an inside pocket for targets, and it unzips and lays out flat on a shooting table to keep your "stuff" from rolling off on the ground.
Oh! It also has a padded carry strap to get you there in comfort!!

I use free bank canvas zipper money bags collect empty brass.

I've used this and that but now have a Midway Compact Range Bag for my IDPA gear.
They put them on sale about every other month.

Otherwise, a tool bag will work; which is what I carried my CAS stuff in.

Excellent suggestions guys lots more then I expected.

I really like that 16" awp bag from lowes. And the uncle mikes sportsmen bag. I'm mainly looking for something like a duffel type bag to hold all the other stuff as well so hard cases are less ideal to me.

Currently I'm using a mountain dew duffle bag I got from a grocers convention but it's just a big bag and hard to keep organized.

Thks for the suggestions so far!

One of the best values in range bags is the Midway bag both in the compact and large sizes. This is a well-designed bag for shooters and is functionally MUCH better than tool bags and other non-range specific bags. The large bag is usually on sale for $39, the compact bag for less.

HTH,
John

Bob Allen makes a decent one, if you are looking for options. I agree that the Midaway and Dillon bags are good, too.

Do yourself a favor.
Buy the Midway large range bag. On sale for $39 often.
WAY better than the price indicates.
Lots of pockets, big, very well made.
Don't do like I did and buy 3 range bags before you buy the Midway bag.

You can thank me later.

Wow, the power of suggestion. I'm not even the original poster, and I just ordered one from Midway!

CZ has a nice logo'ed one, and Crimson Trace lists both a small and large range bag logo'ed with many nice features - just gave away one for my Christmas Giveaway...
The funny thing is I have an extra now, the Natural Gear camo'd one I got at WalMart about 5 yars ago for $2...that's right, $2, new. Clearance can be awesome...

I bought one of the Midway bags when they were on sale, and it has been great.

I have a Midway #892447 Compact Competition Range Bag, as one of my several. I have no complaints, no troubles, and would recommend it without hesitation.

I got my Midway (large) bag today. Absolutely wonderful, and the price can't be beat. Rcmiller, if you're still looking, you won't be disappointed.
