Hi. I need help identifying this rifle. A friend of mine sent me these pictures for assistance. He said he got it around 25 years ago. Any help would be great. Also, what is the value, at best guess? I saw the gun today and it is in good condition. I can get more pictures if needed. Thank you.

Looks like a Saiga or similar with sporting stock on AK action for sale under "assault weapon" restrictions. 25 years is about right for such repression. Sorry, can't guess a dollar value.

Clinton era gun feature ban created a lot of guns like this. Personally I like it because it’s different, and I would like to have that just as much as I would a “normal” ak.

I think it’s a Norinco, but it could be a polytech, regardless, the cartouche indicates that it was made at factory 386 in Fu Jian province, China.

Yep, definitely a Chinese Norinco or Polytech Hunter depending who imported it.

Gunbroker has a few for $800-900, and AK prices are up, but that seems awfully high. Historically, these have been among the cheapest AK's since proprietary parts make them difficult to modify into a more typical AK configuration.
