Just about all the Model 94s I've seen in .44 Magnum have been the Trapper model. Found this one in a gun shop today...these guys sell tactical stuff. Took this one in trade. It's in 99% condition. 24" barrel with pistol grip stock. Forend and pistol grip are checkered (XTR model?). The quality of the wood appears better than the garden variety 94 of this time period. It has a button safety in the receiver (ugh...damn attorneys). Now for the best part: $358.00 out the door! Like I said I've not seen one in this configuration before. Rare? The standard fare model 94s in this caliber seem to be going anywhere from $650 to $900 on GB. Any ideas what this one is worth?

That is a Model 94 LEGACY MODEL-24.
They were offered in 30-30, 44 mag, 45 colt and 357 mag for a short period of time. From 2005 until 2006.... They sport high-grade walnut with checkering and a 24 inch barrel. The 44 magnum version had a 1 in 26 inch rifling twist rate. They are worth at least $600 down south. Here in Alaska they are a $750 rifle.

If I had seen it first, you would have never seen it at all.

Thanks so much for the info Float Pilot

I was just in the right place at the right time. I have a general sense of a good deal when I see one. You confirmed what I suspected as to value. Stay safe my friend.

That could be my old rifle!.. Seriously, I used to have one, in .357 too. $358 is a steal no matter what!. I sold if off - for some stupid reason.. Probably had my heart set on something else I needed the trade $ for. I thought the metal finish on mine was below average, and I'd bought it new. Still a neat rifle though.
