Help me please! This kimber eclipse pro 2 was bought used, but in like new condition. The first 400 rounds or so was a feast of every type of jam known to man. Kimber says the gun needs 500 rounds to break in. It is getting better, but with about 800 rounds thru it I am still having a 5 percent failure rate. About one or two percent nose down feed jams, but the bulk of the jams are premature cartridge release from the mag, resulting in a round in the chamber and the extractor not clipped over it, so the slide is not in battery. I have tried four new wilson mags, the kimber mag, and a mccormick mag, none work. This is allways occuring on the last round. I read 1911 tuners article on the mag basics and none of the mags have the little "dimple" on the floor plate that apparently is there to slow the release of the last round. I guess next I try a GI mag? Also, what about a weak reciol spring- could this be allowing the slide to hit the end of it's travel hard enough to pop a round free from the mag? Kimber does reccommend replacing the spring at about 800 rounds. Thanks for any and all help,Folks.
