I have a ban-era M4 with a fixed stock. A friend gave me a buttstock from his M4 with a collapsible stock. I now need a buffer tube that I can use with the new buttstock on my gun. I looked at Brownell's and e-gunparts.com and also did a Google search and nothing turned up. Any ideas where I can order one?

You need to know if it is a mil-spec buttstock or aftermarket. If it is a true M-4 then it is obviously mil-spec.

I bought a new buffer tube assembly from Bravo Company They are a great company to do business with and they have good prices.

Thanks. Bravo Company had a buffer tube which I am assuming will fit okay. Any tricks to installing? I have heard of folks using anti-sieze on the threads. Any truth to that. Also, what's the itty bitty spring just in front of the lock plate/keeper? Doesn't look like it does anything to me.

There is an itty bitty detent ball in front of the itty bitty spring.
They keep pressure on the takedown pin and keep it from backing out.
Very definate and neccessary parts.
