A friend is thinking of buying a Model 27-2, blued, 8 3/8" barrel. Serial # N3560xx. Seems to be in quite good condition, comes with a nice wood box. Any info on year of manufacture and market price would be appreciated. Thanks!

Don't have my book but think early to mid 1970s.

I have the same gun in nickel. The long barrel 27 handles nicely and doesn't feel too muzzle heavy at all with the slimmer barrel than found on the 29s and 57s.

Yes 1975-1977 for DOB.

I bought one like you describe at a gun show 2 or 3 years ago and paid pretty high - about $600 and some - but it was so minty and I wanted it :) You mention a box - that helps too.

If you could score that for $450 or so you'd be in very good shape. But depending on location prices can go up a lot and older N frames are quite desirable.

P95, I understand that you think that you might have overpaid a bit, but it's relative. By current standards for my area, $600 would be a steal.

I have a 6.5" M27-2, it is a superb pistol. The serial number is n36,6XX. Called the factory and they told me it was made in 1970.

Here's my 8" 27. Got it 4 years ago off GunBroker for the starting price of $325. It came unfired in the wooden box and even had the original cardboard shipping wrapper around it.
