need scope mount for jc higgins 103.18

does anybody know how to put a scope on a jc higgins model 103.18 / marlin model 100?

I believe it would have to be drilled & tapped for a side mount, if you could find one to fit it.

(Unless it has tip-off grooves on top of the receiver, which I doubt it has.)

But the value of the rifle is so low, it would cost more to have a scope mount put on it with screws then it is worth.

yeah i guess your right on there!
its just such a good shooter i thought a scope might make it better.

Mine's a good little shooter, too. Especially for $40. I plan to use mine as a trainer rifle for the nephews because it's so simple.
