OK, Contacted Trijicon for some sights on my Gold Cup. They recommend Tool Tech Gunsight in Michigan as the preffered shop. Sent the slide with instructions to install the green sights front and rear and remove the stock ellison sights and ship back on my ups account. Get the slide back $300 lighter and charged for shipping. ($35) OK. Look at the slide and there are scratches front and rear (stainless),marks on the slide around the roll pin, not happy with the scatches but happy with the sights. I was going to polish out the slide myself but was pissed at the whole process. Put her back together and put 300 rounds down range, love the pistol. Start shooting high and could not figure out why, well turns out that the set screw for the rear sight went boing so the sight is raised about 1/8th of an inch. Looked but could not find it, so I called up TTGS, and explained the situation.
Sent them the slide again with a note, they received it but explained that the slide scratches were not from them. Politley explained that they were not there when it was sent prior to the sight install. They agree to look at the rear sight and polish the frame and to send it back. I get a call today stating that the slide needs to be sent back to colt because the screw is stripped and they were going to put and oversize screw in but wanted colt to look at it first.
In the conversation with TTGS, (The guy was good in saying all the customer service buzzwords in keeping me happy, so it right, blah blah blah...).
After speaking with TTGS I asked them that I don't usually use phrases like placing blame, but I am clearly placing blame of this problem on TTGS when we spoke. After saying this, he hemmed a little bit as I think there may be some machine wonk that needs to be done and I stated that I am not paying for any custom work that is clearly caused by the work of TTGS. Also stated that he needs to get with the manager/owner and discuss it and get back to me asap.
Why do I have a bad feeling. Anyone have any suggestions ?
