My aunt has a shotgun that came into her shop that has interested me. It's very old. It's an old side by side. It's a rabbit ear style. It is a percussion cap style from what I can tell. Most likely a Damascus barrel. The only markings I have found on it are "Peifer" on the side of the receiver. I haven't turned up much on a brand name of peifer. Anyone heard of this before?

Proof marks should be Belgian. Most likely product of Henri Peiper factory. Henri was to double shotguns what Ford was to cars ie first man to introduce assembly line production. Very innovative fellaw used demi-block barrel construction and demi-block inserts for choke constriction. There should be plenty of info if you Google his name.
