I got this pistol about two weeks ago. Handling and firing one, I don't mind saying that the design in incredibly ingenious, and yes, this thing is a tac driver. However, after three range sessions with cleanings galore in between I've had erratic failures to eject occur approximately every 3rd or 4th mag - more specifically, after the trigger is pulled and the slide cycles, there'll be a round stuck between the ejection port and the top of the barrel, with a new round stopped on its way to the chamber.

The extractor is somewhat lose and rather easy to manipulate with a finger. I'd like to replace it, but does anyone know where parts can be had? I've already ordered a new recoil spring simply because I don't know how many rounds this used (but beautiful looking) gun has through it. If anyone has any other suggestions for fixes or sources for P7 parts, I'd appreciate the help.

Oh yeah, it's date coded 85.

Hello

I might be blowing smoke, but my 2 cents... Did you check the edges of the gas cylinder are they sharp? Fouled up badly? I think the P7's are sensitive to cylinder fit. I had one for a while but sold it. I think they are the most beautiful pistols, I just didn't like shooting it.
Good luck

If you're getting stovepipes, you could need a new recoil spring. When I was getting stovepipes, I thought it might be the extractor as well, so I switched out the extractor spring. But it turned out to be the recoil spring. How far are the other rounds ejecting? They should be traveling 9-12 feet.

Thanks for the advice guys. The new recoil spring is on it's way, so I'll give that a shot. Zak, were you the original purchaser? I'll probably contact HK if the new recoil spring doesn't help, but since this is an older gun and I'm far from being the first owner I don't know if they'll back the product.

I took a closer look at the gas cylinder- everything seems to be ship shape. There's no fouling and the edges going into the tube still appear to be crisp. When rounds were extracting & ejecting successfully they were getting winged pretty far, but occasionally one would go near vertical.
