Here's one I just traded for, the only markings are "The Alaskan Made in Belgium", plus the normal Belgian proofs. It was bought new at a gunshop in Juneau Alaska in 1962, appears never fired (I'll take care of that next week). An FN commercial action with bolt and safety that appear exactly as a marked Dumoulin, but you never know for sure, this was apparantly the trade name used for rifles sold by the gunshop.

Kind of plain wood, and the white line spacers are really 1960's, but that was the style in those days.

she sure is a beauty! have you had the stock off of it yet? it looks like there is some lettering on the left side of the gun partially covered by the stock. what kinda scope are you gonna put on it?

I had it out of the stock within 15 minutes of getting home, all the lettering is just the proof marks and caliber stamp. I traded another Mauser in 338 win., for this and an older Baby Browning (.25 ACP). I'll pick up a Leupold one piece base on the way home tonight, still haven't decided on a scope but I'll look around Gander Mt. and see what they have.

I'm known as a reasonably thrifty guy (some people refer to me a cheap SOB) so I'm partial to the mid priced scopes. I've has good luck with my two Burris FFII 3-9x40's with the Mil dot, and a Bushnell 3200, so I may pick up another one of those.
