We had introduced two new slow burning rifle powders last spring, but had not been able to ship until recently.
Please see this thread on accurateshooters.com for the details.

Links to the sell sheets for both Reloder(R) 23 and Reloder (R) 26 are also attached here.
Shot well,
Paul

Reloder 23 is perfect for long-range target shooters seeking performance similar to Reloder® 22...

Quite a task, improving on Reloder 22. My 1,000 yard F Class load in .30-06 is based on it and the 190gr Sierra MatchKing. Only powder I know that will yield 2900fps with that bullet while remaining within SAAMI pressure specs. Basically duplicates the .300WM 190gr Sierra MatchKing factory load.

I would be thrilled to see some 2400! I don't understand these new powders being released when we can't get any of the ones that are proven performers. I see IMR is releasing two new ones too. I don't get it. Make some Bullseye and 2400, then work on the new stuff!

Why haven't I been able to get Re-15 for almost 2 years? Nearly all our troops are home.

No wonder we can't get any Bullseye, Win231, or RL15.

They're making these "new powders" that 10yrs from now someone will try to find data for and can't... (ie; Trap100, Win AALite, WAP, ect...).

if it "ain't broke", don't "phyixxe" it !!!

Sorry if I missed this, but is there any load data available?

I see R-23 and R-26 are not listed on Alliant's web site yet?

Guys, don't rag the guy from Alliant when he probably has nothing to do with production. From what I'm reading RL-23 is merely RL-22 with a anti-copper fouling agent and it's temp stable.

Most of the powder companies are doing the same over the past 2 years. This is a good thing, not something to be ridiculed. :)

I completely agree with Arch AngleCD. I can't find 2400 yet either but my LGS has every other powder that Alliant makes in stock and lots of it.

Alliant is catching up but their not quite there yet.

Paul, thank you for the update on these two new powders and good to here from you again.

How does this anti-copper fouling agent work?

The "Reloader's Guide" on the Alliant website does have load data for both R-23 and R-26 for some cartridges such as 7MM Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag and others in that category.

Just to add to what I said above, 2400 is made in the USA but the 2 new rifle powders are made in Europe. RL-26 is made in Switzerland and RL-23 in Sweden. Since they are not only made in different plants but different countries making RL-23 and RL-26 has no effect on the production of 2400.

Thanks for the kind words ArchAngelCD, but please let me clarify a couple of things.
2400(R) is produced by us in Radford, VA.
Reloder 22 and 23 are most definitely not the same. They are about the same burnspeed, but the charge weights required for Reloder 23 are definitely different than Reloder 22. The efficiency of Reloder 23 makes the charges for the same velocity lower, so please check the data for the correct max charge and reduce by 10% for workup.
Shoot well,
Paul

Powder that retards copper fouling is good. Powder that's temperature stable is better. But, powder that's available is the best!

All joking aside, I look forward to trying some of the new formula's when they start showing up at my LGS. 'Till then, I still have a couple pounds of RL-22 to burn up.

I'm an alliant guy. I use their powders almost exclusively. With the exception of IMR 4350 and IMR 3031. I bought some R22 the other day looking to stuf some 180 grain partitions in it. I'm glad I didn't bonker out and grab 4 or 5 pounds now that I see an alternative is going to be available. I buy a lot of guns. A lot of 30/06's. Lord wiling, I'm going to have a few more. So I'm just lucky I didn't do stupid without trying this R23 first. I might pick up a pound or two of the R26 for the 270 and 150 grain 30/06 too. Just great stuff to see a great company moving forward like this fine tuning offerings. And Allliant has worked well in all my guns and, with all the choices to choose from, they'll be even better choices. God Bless fellas.

I am glad that the powder manufacturers are coming up with new powders. I also am thankful that some of the International powder manufacturers are seeing the market that U.S. shooters/reloaders offer. With all the new reloaders that have came aboard the reloading hobby, we certainly need a better supply than before.

If there is any negative to the Reloder 23 and Reloder 26 introduction, it would be WHY, if it was introduced to the public back in the spring of 2014(certainly there was a testing period before introduction), are there so very little data published? Following all the links in this thread, I have only found just a few loads listed ... surely Alliant has had time to develop more reloading data!

To date we have developed 132 loads in 16 cartridges for Reloder 23, and 106 loads in 14 cartridges for Reloder 26. I am not 100% certain that all the data has been entered onto the web, but I have checked for quite a bit of it and it seems to be there, spread out in the database for each cartridge/bullet combo.
It is a little frustrating that our website is not as up to date as it should be, but our company is really growing and the web support resources get spread thin. We will get there eventually, and then you will be able to see all recipes for each product, as you can for our current offerings.
Thanks for your interest in our new products.
Paul

With the stellar performance I get already with their RL powders, I can't wait to see how the new stuff performs, no doubt excellent! Keep up the great work and progress Alliant.

I've been seeing all my favorites back on the shelves around here, things are getting better every day.

My most accurate 300 WM, and 7mm RM loads have hands down been with RL22.

Not only are they behind the curve posting load data, they didn't even update the Alliant Site to reflect the addition of the 2 powders. I just checked and they are still not on the site! (not even on the "What's New" page)

Yepper, as Paul mentioned a couple hours ago, the new powders don't yet show up in the "New Products" section of the website.

But if you go into the Reloading Guide, you will find that there are many recipes already in the guide for both RL23 and RL26.

And also, both powders are in the latest data update for QuickLoad for those that have a copy of that.

I am not trying to be critical in a harmful way .... in fact I'm trying to be helpful ... just saying Alliant needs to update their ways of showing data/products ... as have some of the other folks ...

The very first powder(way back in 1965) I ever used was from a company that became Alliant .... I still use a lot of Alliant powders ... when I can get them ...

Not trying to be a complete kiljoy but introducing new powders instead of making more pistol/shotgun powders that have not been available in some locations for several YEARS does not make any sense.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr
