New Beretta 92 Compact M9A1 Stainless

I've been looking for some time for one of these, they seem to be a rare model. The last two I saw on GunBroker were used and went for a premium plus price. I was surfing gun sites about a week ago and Gun Prime (Birmingham Pistol) had listed a brand new one on Guns International at MSRP. I jumped on it. Got to pick it up from my FFL yesterday and I have been very pleased with the acquisition.

The fit and finish on this Gallatin,TN made Beretta is perfection. I took it to the range yesterday for a quick function check and ran around 100 rounds of various 9mm through it flawlessly.

It's one of the Inox models, stainless barrel, and slide with the anodized aluminum frame. I've never had an anodized frame on a gun and haven't really committed to kydex or leather as far as a holster. Would appreciate any input as to the durability of this finish. And yes, I know all holsters wear a finish.

I highly recommend the steel small-parts upgrade kit and replacing the poly mainspring plug with aluminum. The improvement in overall feel, especially the trigger, is significant and they are easy to install in minutes.

I agree. The only thing that should be plastic on a M92 are potentially the grips.

Having linked the above, a "trigger job in the bag" ( https://langdontactical.com/products/trigger-job-in-a-bag/92-96-m9-series/ ) or an actual trigger job ( https://langdontactical.com/np3-trigger-job-for-the-92-96-m9/ ) from Langdon Tactical would be higher on my list of modifications.

Another good option would be conversion from "F" model decocker/safety to "G" decocker only, unless you prefer a safety, which is perfectly fine.

As long as we're (at least me and one other guy) talking modifications and not anodized frame wear, changing the hammer spring is probably the first, and possibly the only change I'd make to a Beretta 92.

It depends on the part.

Most of the parts sold at both places are just Beretta parts. However, some are specific to Langdon and some are specific to Wilson. Of those, they are usually better than what Beretta offers. The Wilson trigger bar is an improvement over the standard Beretta part, but most feel the Langdon trigger bar is better than the Wilson bar. Langdon is the one who helped Wilson get deep into the Beretta business, for what it's worth.

I would be happy with parts from either Wilson or Beretta.

Both are very good for customer service. I've bought a lot of 1911 stuff from Wilson with great success. I've bought some stuff from Langdon (PX4 though), and they also have been very good. If choosing from ordering a part that is available from Beretta, Wilson, and Langdon, ordering from Beretta would probably be my last choice.

These are the two statements that should stand out for you.

Langdon developed the parts, Wilson wanted to get in on the Beretta market and went into partnership with Langdon to develop a Wilson line of parts for the Beretta 92 lineup. Back in the day, when Langdon was still shooting for Beretta, he did a trigger job on my Beretta 96 overnight during a two day class. Mostly it was polishing some action parts and installing his mainspring (which is lighter than the Beretta "D" spring which is often mentioned)
