New CCI packaging - better than before?

A friend gave me a box of the new production CCI SSP's (Standard Small Pistol) and half a box of SLP (Standard Large Pistol) primers and I like the new packaging. It "seems" to me the box is thicker, fits the sleeves better and the sleeves fit the trays a little better. With CCI I've always taken the sleeves out of the box and taped the edges to keep them from opening and spilling when handled but these new "bottom striped" (??) sleeves don't seem to need that. Has anyone else noticed or did I just get lucky with these? FWIW it's always seemed to me CCI had the best designed but worst executed packaging. The sleeve covers always fit so bad you either had to tear them to get the tray out or the trays slid out if you breathed near them, no in between.

My CCI LRP and SPM that I have seem to be good. They're newer production I believe, but I have nothing to compare them to.

Been using the LRP in my 45-70 loads and haven't noticed the sleeves too tight or too loose. The SPM are intact as I still have ~1200 Fed SPM that I'm using but when I took a sleeve out to gawk at them when I got them I didn't notice anything out of order there either.

I've never had an issue with any primer manufacturers. The Sellior & Bellot sleeves are taped at the factory. The tape is so tight I have trouble getting a blade between the holder and the cardboard. Shouldn't be an issue going forward since S&B left the market (sniff).

It hasn't been a real issue, but I'm not fond of the Remington packaging. Theirs is the smallest brick of all manufacturers, and they pack them horizontally. Consequently, these tend to fall out of the turning tray easier than any others.

I haven't opened my Federal primers, yet, but they have the largest bricks by far.

So are the new packaged primes the dark ones or the lighter ones? Because I remember when the old ones were lighter colored and they switched to darker colors.

Probably has more to do with the printer that supplies those sleeves. I've got two bricks of 22 Standard Velocity ordered about a week apart and the blue is quite different between them. At some point the score lines (where the folds are) were set just a little different. Wouldn't take much to do it. CCI may not even be aware of the difference. We're not talking laser precision making those sleeves.

I actually like the olllld CCI primer packs. They are a good bit smaller. They load them on their sides.
