If I need another M19, I'd be more than happy with a new one.

I had to send my 19-5 back for repairs. The lady that answered my call up front said no cylinders or barrels. This fact would aim me toward the new models if the handgun was to get a steady magnum diet. From experience, Bubba has to do with much of this "legendary" S&W unreliability. Wonder if this cracked forcing cone was grown larger on the web? Wonder if the MIM parts are really as bad as reported on the web?

I see less issues with MIM parts breaking than accounts of "The Lock" inadvertently activating and those are few and far between. I have no problem with either personally.

Being said, all my 19's are older pre-locks so I managed to hoard away a spare NIB cylinder and a extra 4" barrel. If I ever need them, I'll have the barrel nickeled (the cylinder already is) and build the "Palomino" I've always wanted for a BBQ gun.

I honestly wouldn’t take a new one for free unless I could sell it right away. I don’t need an ugly lock and MIM parts when there are plenty of used 19’s on the market.

I buy real classics, not classic series junk.

Make mine pinned and recessed too...
