So the girlfriend and I like to shoot clays. She has her own pink shotgun and she's getting better (two years ago she was parroting Brady Campaign arguments at me). I have a do-all champion clay thrower aka "the flinger." Well the flinger is on its last legs, literally. The foot peg welds are broken and the feet that hold it into the ground are coming off. Its seen a lot of use, especially in hard dirt. I'll save it to see if I can mount the throwing mechanism onto something else. It was only ~$~25 bucks.
Anyways, the girlfriend has a hard time pulling back the throwing arm (I told her she needs to hit the gym ). She can pull it back a load it a few times when I'm shooting, but beyond that I end up doing the loading. She also attempts to pull it back while standing in the arc of the throwing arm, which resulted in a painful accident awhile back.
I've seen the 3/4 cock throwers and the foot cocked one on the internet but none in real life. I am in the market for a new thrower but I don't know which one would work for us. I'm looking for the one that is the absolutely easiest to cock. So easy your grandmother with arthritis could do it. Can you guys point me in the right direction?
Secondly, I am in need of a stock adjuster for her Mossberg 500c. The bottom of the buttstock digs into her "lady parts" and hurts her during the recoil. I already have a recoil pad on the gun and one that is on her shoulder. The problem is the sharp lower end of the buttstock that is causing problems. She ends up holding the gun on an angle, so that the top of the gun is pointing at 10 or 11 o'clock. I've seen those stock adjuster things that are on fancy target rifles that tilt the recoil pad/buttplate in or out while allowing you to hold the rifle normally. I'm looking for one that would direct the lower edge of the buttstock out and away towards her armpit.
To sum it up:
1) Durable clay thrower needed that is really really easy to cock. Budget < $100
2.) Buttplate adjusting device that helps move the buttplate away from "sensitive chest areas."
All suggestions are appreciated!
