New CZ Compact

The Tri-stars are a high quality product and there is a good portion of parts interchangeability with CZ. There is a big following of Tri-star pistols on the CZ forum, haven't read anything about importation changes.
My P09 is a tack driver, smooth shooting gun.
My 97 has out shoot every 1911 it has went up against. Dan Wesson, Colt, Springfield, Ruger, Wilson Combat.

A PCR solves that with an alloy frame, but comes with a decocker.
I don't mind the de-cocker models, but the steel-frame, especially with the compact, is a great recoil tamer (not that the 9mm is that bad), just makes it even softer-shooting. And the extra weight is easily managed with a sturdy belt and a great holster (Kramer horsehide Belt Scabbard), But the one thing that does put me off some of the other CZ models is the addition of the useless front cocking serrations (seriously, you can't really get a grip on that tiny amount of real estate anyway) and -- ugh -- a rail. No rails or FCS on compact pistols for me, just my personal preference. I like a slimmer package with a smooth draw.

I found a CZ75D compact at a local shop a couple months ago, before the panic. It was a Century Arms import, which means it probably was in Israel. It had been cerakoted gray. It had rubber grips that were pretty worn. I got it for $350. I put Cool Hand grips on it and found 3 more CZ 14rd mags at the last gun show we had, before the virus. It's one of the best shooters I own.
I've had EAA Witness pistols before but nothing beats a CZ. I've added a Rami recently too. I also have a Tristar S-120, the chrome model. It's also a great shooter.

When the P-01 model was first introduced, CZ's catalog noted, "The P-01 is based on the CZ 75 design but with improvements in Metallurgy, quality control and design...". Other than the P-01 having an M3 rail and not having the snag-free sights or a loaded chamber indicator that the Model 75 D PCR Compact has, are there any other meaningful differences between these two pistols?
Also, anybody have any suggestions, advice, recommendations for an iwb holsters for these pistols? Thanks.

No line on an IWB holster but I really like this DeSantis OWB holster (a Mini Scabbard I think), that I got for my P01. Holds the gun close in to my body and is very comfortable to wear.

Today, I spotted a new P-01 and a new PCR Compact laying next to each other at my local gun store; the P-01 selling for $659.00 and the PCR going for $569.99, a difference of eighty dollars (the CZ catalog shows a difference of $28.00 retail between the two pistols). Because I don't want or need a light rail and because I prefer a pistol having "snagless" sights and a loaded chamber indicator over one not having these features, I see no reason why not to get the Compact model instead of the P-01.

When I got my P01 I was just happy to find a gun store that carried CZs! At the time they also had a P06, a P07 and a Kadet .22 conversion kit. Didn't want a .40 and the PO7 was the earlier model (or as CZ called it: the pre-facelift version). I did take the Kadet conversion to go with my P01 as they made me an offer on the Kadet that was too good to pass up!

Nice article on comparing steel vs alloy frames but nothing about the PCR vs the P-01. Great video; thanks rust collector.
In terms of what carry position, I generally tote a pistol just behind my hip on my strong side, whether it's an IWB or OWB holster.
