I just bought a NIB CZ 75BD Police today.:D I will post some pics as soon as I can. Hopefully I will make it to the range soon. I will let you know how it went.

Rusty -

Congrats on the CZ 75BD. I have one and I love it. Don't be surprised if the trigger pull is heavy and rough -- they take 500-1000 rounds to smooth out. Even then, you may want to consider going with a lighter hammer spring to lighten it up some more. Also, don't be put off by the fact that when you decock the gun, the hammer falls to the half-cock notch. That's the way they are designed.

I just bought my third CZ - and SP-01 Tactical. Very similar to my 75BD, but with the new ergonomics that came with the P01. I'm definitely addicted to CZ's!!

Thanks everybody. I have wanted a CZ for a while because everything I have read about them has been good. I wanted the decocker because I thought it would be better for shooting IDPA and other compititions not having to fool around with a safety. I think I would be faster with the first shot being DA rather than trying to find the safety. Im I right in my thinking? This is my first center fire pistol and I haven't shot in any compititions yet. Yes mine does have the night sights. It also came with 3 16 round magazines and the thumb saver for loading. It is killing me but I don't think I will be able to make it to the range until Monday. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again for all the congrats. Here are a few pictures.
Thanks,
Rusty

CZ Pistols

I have about 15 of them right now and have had a bunch over the years. One of the very best handguns you can buy. I'm sure that you will enjoys it.

Best regards.

You'll get varying opinions on the issue. One thing to consider is that the first double-action shot will have a different trigger pull and "feel" than the subsequent shots. Many DA/SA shooters find that the first shot goes low and left because you are pulling "harder". Focusing on good trigger control can usually overcome that problem.

Personally, I prefer the decocker because I don't want to have one more step between me and the gun going bang. If I've made the decision to pull the trigger (whether in competition or in a real-life situation) then I want the gun to shoot. Again, you'll get lots of different opinions on the safety-vs-decocker debate. Enjoy your BD -- you've chosen well!

Excellent choice. Hakan grips, Jackash rod, and other Cz acc. will make it a great gun.

I am about to make a comment many may wish to refute about CZ's. I have a Pre-B 75 9mm and I have compared it to my other quality autoloaders. This includes my Colt Commander XSE, Glock 17, Benelli B-76, Kimber Classic Custom, and former Beretta 92. I have never owned a Sig, but plan on it in the future.

In my opinion, my CZ is stand out among all my autos. It is well made, the SA cocking with the Pre-B spur hammer is velvety smooth. The manual safety is positive, nearly silent, and feels like its floating in oil. The slide to frame fit is tight and solid and the accuracy from this pistol is just crazy. One hole groups at 21' all day long. Mine has been absolutely reliable, no limp wrist failures, nothing; it goes bang everytime. The SA trigger is a little creepy but doesn't impair my ability to shoot it like a target grade pistol.

All this for under $400.00 OTD. One of the very best handguns you can buy? Absolutely.

The CZ75/85 has to be one of the best kept secrets in the shooting fraternity. You can spend more and get less pistol for your dollar. It's like a DA version of the Hi-Power, with more rounds in the grip. Well worth the investment. Enjoy, you will have it for a long time.

Well I made it to the range today.:D It is very easy to understand now why some of you would own as many as 8 or 15 CZ's. It is an awesome gun and I am very pleased. The target below might not look like much to most but it is pretty good for me. No FTF or FTE but I only shot about 70 rounds. The gun was very comfortable. I am sure the groups will get better with practice. Thanks for all of your support and advice.

I just added a new CZ to my collection, too. A new '92 CZ 75. Although I've added a set of CZ rubber grips, I've yet to shoot it.

Congrats on your CZ. Sig used to be my all time favorite gun until I got my CZ-75B. I'm not knocking Sig, I still love them and will never part with my 226, but the CZ just totally won me over. They've got to be one of the best values on the market. Mine has been a flawless performer and is more accurate than my 226.

Since everyone else has chimed in with support for CZ, I guess I'll add my Czech porn too. :)

Amazing guns for an amazing price. I'm hooked. I don't see myself going to another brand anytime soon.

My Pre-B 75 is a tack driver. Well finished, tight fitted, slick manual safety, and ergonomic. I hold my 1st gen Glock as a 9mm standard. . . . . . until I got my CZ-75.

If forced to choose, I would have take the CZ, it's that good. Really good :)

I gotta add my P-01 to the CZ porn. I took this pic after cleaning it last night. I put 500 rounds through it that day with only one good oiling beforehand. No hiccups at all, even with 4 brands of ammo. You can't get any better than that.
