I took my grandsons elk hunting this weekend. The first time we returned to the truck and were loading up I needed to remind them to check the status of their rifles and make sure they were unloaded before loading into the truck.
I simply shouted, "Alex Baldwin!"
They both grinned at me and checked their rifles.
I have not copyrighted this new and inventive procedure, feel free to use it at your discretion.

As to how an Anti-gun actor decided to (apparently) avoid/neglect practically any safety checks, along with his so-called 'Armorer', except that he asked the 'Armorer' something like "Is it loaded with blanks?"..

..this is mind-boggling.

Imagine the procedural safety checks done during the Magnificent Seven in 1961, and Kelly's Heroes, plus hundreds of other westerns and war movies etc.

Unfortunately, this is what happens on a small budget - things get overlooked. Time is like gold dust on a film set. From the very beginning of each day you feel like you are running out of time as opposed to making progress. Every minute is accounted for and every additional minute of overtime is enormously expensive. Even on a magnificently funded film you rob Peter to pay Paul. On a low budget fil there is no Peter to rob. It is extremely sad that this happened, but as mentioned, when you consider films like Heat, Saving Private Ryan and the John Wick films it’s actually amazing this doesn’t happen more often - something we can all be thankful for. But extremely bad injuries and death do happen on set and no one gets on their high horse about who was responsible. I wonder what the spin would be if a John Wayne or Chuck Heston had been in a similar circumstance.
