I have large hands and the OEM grips (top photo) were simply too small. Gun flopped around in my hands. Got some new grips (bottom photo) from Altamount today and these fit my hands much better. Feels like a different gun altogether. Hopefully this weather breaks soon and I can try them out.

I’ve put those same Roper grips on my S&W 19s. Really makes a big difference for the good. I’ve tried lots of different grips and these fit my hands the best. I’m about to order one more set for my other 6 inch 19.

The weather has been in the single digits for a while and rainy this week but today it was 58 degrees and between rain showers I took the K22 out to my outdoor range and tried out the new target grips. Made a huge difference. It was like a completely different gun. I have and have had some guns with really nice triggers. Nothing that matches the single action trigger pull of this pistol. Need to find some cheap 22 ammo. Shooing 22's is like eating potato chips. Once you start it's hard to stop.

CCI SV is your friend. It's relatively cheap and my M17 groups as well or better with it than any of the pricier match fodder.

I'll check out the CCI SV thank you. I have a great shooting 22 rifle that likes the Green Tag and Remington Target solids. In fact I just ordered some more Green Tag. I was shooting the Remington Target today.

CCI Standard Velocity is very accurate from my model 17. It’s very accurate with Aguila Interceptor as well. There’s another ammo it’s very accurate with but I can’t find the target photos.
It groups well with most ammo but the POI may be different than the POA.

Not a fan of rimfire revolvers but I am a big fan of S&W revolvers. The Magna stocks were THE hot new deal when they were introduced on the Registered Magnum in late 1935 and the rest of the N frames in early 1936. Many shooters wanted the area behind the triggerguard filled in and chose to use grip adapters of some variety. Here is a Model 1950 Army 45 ACP, with Magna stocks and a Tyler T grip.

IT is my favorite combination for S+W revolvers.

The Altamonts are nice. I got my first K22 27yrs ago and swapped the blocky factory targets for hardwood Hogues. Took a lot of small game with beer cans with that sixgun. Later on I found a set of Herrett's Ropers and it wore them for a while. Then a set of rosewood presentations. Now it's Keith Brown walnut.

Good Lord! CraigT, you are killing me. I have three pairs of Keith Brown Ropers but now I want more. You are compelling me to buy every remaining pair on earth. If there were ever “one grip to rule them all,” it would be Keith Brown Ropers for S&W and Colt.

Who makes the finger grip inserts. I have always liked the look it gives the revolver.

Those were made by Tyler T Grip. The company is still in business but I buy them on the secondary market, Gun shops, auctions, garage sales.

A similar one is also made by B K Grips. At times Pachmyar, Mershon, and S&W have all marketed similar adapters.

Ordered and received 1K rounds of CCI Standard Velocity last week. Had a chance to try them in my K22 yesterday. Out of the K22 every they are as every bit as accurate as Remington Target and Green Tag. Cost much more reasonable. Can't wait to try them in my 22 rifle off of a bench rest. Thanks' for the advise!
