Howdy Ya'll
Texas Navy here. Being an Admiral in the Texas Navy, I reckon that should sum it all up. I do live in Texas, at least for the time being. I love history because it clears my mind of all the crap that our teachers, particularly about history, tried to enshrine in our brain housing group! Yup, I am prior military and have served in more than one, been deeply related to two others. I have lived in Merry Ole England and Skegness beaches on the North Sea was as Far East as I have been and have gone as far West as Beirut, Lebanon. I have lived (in the US of A) as far North as Maine, as far South as Florida, am immediately related to folks in Georgia, Alabama, North Dakota, Minnesota. Spent years growing up / later living in states such as California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma to name but a few. Good to see all you firearms folks! I started when I was 12, bought my first air rifle much to my Mom and Dad's objections. At 16 I bought my first rifle, a single shot, bolt action .22, At 18, I walked into a Pawn Shop, showed them my driver's license and bought my first handgun, a .22 caliber Ruger. This was my first lesson in "Caveat Emptor" (Buyer beware). I Paid $36 for the badly abused Ruger. A brand spanking new one would cost at MSRP, $34. Oh, as a civilian, I have openly carried a pistol. It is a whole lot easier and more civilized than openly carrying a rifle or a shotgun. Have had guns in my home, in my car - for a great many of my years.
