Need some help from all you fellow varmint shooters. I retired 12/31/12 so this is the beginning of my second year of retirement. I live in NE Kansas and we had rough winter, so my wife and I hid out in Florida for all of February. While it was OK, Florida is not my cup of tea. Took no guns so I felt naked. I really missed varmint hunting and winter small game, rabbits and squirrels. So, next winter we plan to look for some place around Albuquerque or maybe a bit further south or west. So this is the beginning of my search for hunting opportunities within say 100-200 miles of Albuquerque. I love coyote calling and am told that New Mexico has lots of coyotes. Are there any prairie dogs to shoot? Where? My plan is to rent a place for maybe 2 months, January and February. Once settled in, I can begin traveling around the area. I will REALLY APPRECIATE any guidance you can offer. Responses can be offered here or PMs are also welcome.
