Ok, so I'm sure I dident invent this, but I came up with it on my own anyways...

I when ever I shoot my 308 @100 from now on, I will pull one round of match ammo, and put it in my pocket...

When I get done for the day, I walk to the 100yd line, and set a empty brass down and head back to the bench.

I try and bullseye it... You only have 1 shot, so you have to make it count, you've had your practis, and Should be able to make the shot.

No Joke, I did it, 1 shot only, I just took my time, deep breath, and slowly took the shot. The 1st time I did this was yesterday... here's the pic

I did this yesterday, and today again, todays was a hit and was almost a bullseye again!! but it was 1/16 to the side. yeah yeah.... I know its a waist of brass, but It is really good practis for taking only 1 shot that has to count.

I have shot at shotgun shells before, that's a great idea though.

What kind of rifle setup do you have in the picture, rings, mount, stock, scope, barrel, and bullets, looks like a custom Remington 700 of some kind?

Thanks

Gonna be a real bitch to reload that one . . . . . . .

Looks like a 700 in an H-S Precision stock. Have to be a 700P or an LTR, or maybe an SPS Tactical. Definitely a Rem 700 action though.

The rings look very similar to the Burris Xtreeem Somthing or Other type. If they're Burris, they're good rings for the money, but nothing spectacular.

No idea on the glass though.

Now you need to lay the bullet down on it's side and shoot the primer out

so i'm NOT the only one that thought that...

shot the primers out of alot of discarded shotgun shells with a .22 when i was younger. But my current range doesn't allow for it.

Amoung the "trophies" lost when my family moved out of the house i grew up in, was a Wolf 7.62x54R case with a .22caliber hole where the primer should have been, and the side-wall of the case peeled open.

I'd been shooting discards with a Savage 110FP in .223, In a manner similar to what Iansstud describes (5 discarded pieces of brass on top of a plastic barrel, 5 shots, one shot at each case), at some point during shots 1-3 #4 fell down and presented it's primer. i didn't really expect to even hit it.

but it sure was fun :D

If you're not reloading, it sounds like a great idea. I have shot at an empty shotgun shell before. Something fun you may want to try is a tic-tac-toe target game. Although it's only fun if you have a buddy at the range...who can't beat themselves at tic-tac-toe?

i pick up old shotgun shells laying around and try to hit the bottom of it with my pistols @ 20'. my goal is to shoot the primer dead square at least 50% of the time. right now, my average is much lower than that. but i am trying!

Yes, it is a Remington, sps tac, hs stock, tac weaver base ($14), tac weaver rings 30mm ($19.99) both base/ rings on clearance... Millett trs-1 '09 model, Harris pod...

I have Millett accessory rail low rings on b/o and am looking for a cheap 20moa base.

I have about 140 pieces of brass, when I get to 200 I'll start reloading, 50/50 155 scenar/ 168 smk.

I plan on reloading, but 1 piece of brass is not a big loss!
