Need help identifying this 308 muzzle brake. I got this Tikka T3 Tactical in a trade the other day and it came with the muzzle brake below. I can't seem to find any info on it yet. Just wondering if it's worth a hoot or if I should just find a thread protector for it (not looking forward to the extra noise).

As a bonus, here is the rifle. I'm a huge fan of the T3 action and to have it in a bull barrel I couldn't pass up. Threw my Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 SF on it. Cheapish Weaver "Tactical" rings. Standard Caldwell bipod that moves between all my rifles.

I haven't shot it yet. The day we came home with it my wife's Granny passed and it's been busy around here since. Tomorrow should be the first shots and I have a bunch of 155 gr Nosler Custom Comps to get it sighted in. After that plan is to get it really dialed in with 168 SMKs.

That was a fast response. And that's sure it. Can't believe I didn't see that. I thought I looked for all 308 muzzle brakes on Midway and Brownells.

So these things actually work? I've never used a brake before. I'm not bothered by recoil much but it was already on the rifle so I'll rock it until I feel like I don't need it.

Let me offer you some advice -- if you shoot that thing at the range, warn the shooters around you! People get a little techy when someone makes their ears ring from a half dozen benches away.
