New Rossi .357 thoughts?

Like this?
For my purposes, this would do. It’s easy to load up +P+ .38’s to approximate.357’s. Whether you need to is the real question. A good +P .38 will do what you need it to.
I dispatched many a road hit deer with +P .38’s. It did it without the drama of the .357mag, (noise and flash).

I read an article in American Rifleman a couple of months back about a couple of new Rossi revolvers. They looked good and the write up was very positive. I haven’t seen any at my LGS though. I wouldn’t mind looking one over.
Don't take this the wrong way but when did you ever read a bad writeup in a gun magazine?
That said, I expect this gun to be just fine although a little pricey. I've had several Rossi guns including a 720 (which I shouldn't have sold) and a target 51. I think the Bangor Punta fiasco may have at least given Taurus and Rossi ideas von how to improve quality even though it was fifty years ago.

 Very good point!

Years ago I used to get a magazine called “Recoil”. They actually gave honest reviews of various firearms. Then they changed. I think they got a new publisher and became a cookie cutter expensive tactical magazine.
I haven’t picked one up to look at in a very long time.

I remember that one as well as a pulp rag called "gun tests" or something like that.

1973 was when Bangor Punta sold off Taurus. That's when all relationship between Taurus and S&W were severed. Taurus didn't start partnering with Rossi until 1995 and didn't fully merge until 2008.

They were reader funded. They'd buy the guns and out them through the reviews. They never reached out to manufacturers for test demos.
Thanks for the info.

Still, they never tested guns that I was interested in. I subscribed for 3 years and finally gave up.
