New Ruger Tactical: Scope Mount Problem

I recently purchased a new Ruger rifle described above. This afternoon I tried mounting a scope on it, using the Ruger supplied rings, however there is no way that those rings will fit on the base mount that it came with. BTW they are just simply Weaver type base mounts. I really didn't want to force them on there. Any suggestions?

Has anyone else come across this problem?

Im assuming your bought either a mini-14, or a 10-22 tactical? Im guessing the mini. I BELIEVE the rings that come with them are standard ruger rings to go on the built dovetails UNDER the pic rail.

You believe correctly.

OP, do not put the supplied rail on if you are going to use the factory rings.

Side note: I wonder if Ruger will exchange the supplied 1" rings for 30mm rings.

It was the Mini-30 Tactical, ok now I see, it was rather confusing as they even supplied the blue Loctite for the base mount, I'll probably go with an aftermarket rings here before too long. I some how knew I'd get an answer before to long, as this is my favorite forum, with a bunch of knowledgeable folks.

They will. The firearm owner will need to return the 1" rings and Ruger will ship 30's out. At least they did for me not too very long ago.

No I did need the 1"rings, which were the ones that were sent with the gun, however the base of the rings that attach to the Weaver base were to small to go on and clamp down as intended. Now I've got another problem, while trying to get the screws out of the scope base (note: I used the blue Loctite they sent me) I stripped the head off and had to drill and use an easy out to get the dang thing out., now I've got a nasty hole where the base mount goes. I'm wondering if I should call Ruger and tell them what a dumb a$$ I am, and how much it will cost to have them rectify the problem?
