I purchased this HP M28 for 800 bucks. I had to clean it up, but oh baby, she's a great .357. If I'm going sans sights on an N frame, give me a 1917.Add adjustable sights to a .357 N-frame (M27) and you’re close to the ideal revolver.
No but it shoots plus P 38 Special.Does it take Glock mags?
Also, does it have an optics cut?
When the HD was issued for the hotter .38 Specials, S&W had no "middle" frame size such as the
The storage lock is present. While it is missing the 4th screw it has the upper sideplate screw and no safety lock. So it is a 95% repro.
I note the Heavy Duty and Outdoorsman have a cachet to them, remained in production long after the .357 was introduced.

That's how I see it.Great guns but from a practical standpoint the 586/686
fills the role of a heavy duty revolver just as well if not
better because of its more friendly user size.

Over time I owned a few of the HDs but they never fit
my hand all that well which is a common complaint
by me with any N-frame. S&W was extremely wise
in having several K-frame dimensions on its L-frame.
A fellow named Mike Johnston built that scabbard for me.Straw.. your talkin’ my language! Who loves ya baby!
