Picked up a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 .45 this past weekend, and I have a Crossbreed Holster on the way, as I intend to carry this weapon. I am shopping for magazines, At this point, I am leaning towards 8rnd Wilson Combat 47D's, 8 rnd Wilson Combat ETM's, or Chip McCormick 8 rnd Power Mag Plus magazines. Can anyone offer suggestions, or confirmations? Thanks,
Lee

I've used both for years with exactly zero problems from either in at least a dozen different 1911's. The Wilson's have the rep. for being the best, but at considerably less cost, the Chip McCormick's have worked as well for me.

Tough to beat the 47d's, but I really like Metalform mags as well. I have a half dozen or so of the Metalforms, but I carry the 47d.

Cdigman,
If this was a new SA it came with a one time offer sheet to purchase a variety of magazines and accessories. I would recommend taking them up on their generosity, you will be buying them at WAAAY below dealer price. I picked up 6 of them when I bought my 'Loaded 1911' a few years back. 7 and 10 rounders. Both have been 100% reliable with both ball and SWC in all 6 of my 1911's.

ps if the sheet wasn't there, I'd be back at the store that sold it, demanding it.

FWIW

Wilson 47d's.

Its the only mag i run now in a sea of 1911's. They have been simply amazing for me!... ive actually bought "problem child" 1911's that magically worked when running the 47's in them.

LOVE EM'!

7 round Wilsons. I have also seen problem child guns that would not feed ball turn into guns that would feed anything after introducing them to Wilson magazines.
