SAR has upgraded it's SAR 9 line. The Gen 2 subcompact and the Gen3 compact & full sized, images are shown in that order.

From what I read and have seen on YouTube the SAR 9 is a heck of a pistol

I have a SAR 9 I bought a couple years ago. I really like it, shoots well, no issues and good accuracy.

I have two SAR9s that I thought I really liked at first, but the manual safety began to bug me. There was word that a replacement pin would be available for order to replace the manual safety, but as of now, no dice. I wonder, seeing the compact model having what looks like a pin where the manual safety goes, means they have such a pin for sale. The mechanism is likely completely different, but it doesn't hurt to look into it.

Today shot several different drills at speed, timed, moving, multiple targets per drill, etc. with Winchester NATO 124 gr. FMJ. I'm no bullseye marksman but this Gen 1 SAR 9 so far seems to be a keeper and I'm sure it's a lot more accurate than I am.

I'm old school so no manual safety bugs me but I can deal with it. I just looked myself and I'm seeing Gen 3 SAR9s without manual safeties.
What I'd like to get is the SAR9 Storm....... Not sure I'd be able to hit anything with it though.

Galloway has a replacement pin for the full-size SAR9.

Eeee-uuuu. I bet it would be about as hard to see the sights on it as a polished stainless gun. Indoor range which I don't have would be OK but it is bright sunshine for me.

When I started shooting semi-autos they all had manual safeties so I am long used to them and really don't care for a gun without one.
