El Tejon,
I was born in the last great decade.
Then you showed up in the next one
Let us see if El T figures that one out. Hint: I am older
Basically folks are not being raised right and current business models are about "them" and not the customer.
Mom's Maytag washer needed servicing, it is 27 years old.
Old boy shows up, old school and he got rid of his Retail front some years ago.
Just does the servicing.
Years ago he noticed the wind of change, folks not caring about repeat customers, and service.
Circuit City was coming to town , and he already had input from Newton,Iowa [where Maytag is/was] and other Maytag dealers.
He blew out his retail store. No way he could compete with CC buying 500 units at a time, and selling less than his cost. Business model : undercut the competition, put them out of business.
CC will not give one the time of day if they spend the big dollars for a washer and dryer. They will look at you like you are an alien and state you bought these from them, and need service.
Whirlpool in Ft Smith, is closed, they were bought out. New folks that have Whirlpool, just signed the deal to buy Maytag.
Incredible the number of folks wanting to buy the used , older stuff, and have this old school service guy, take care of them.
New model is take the money, once taken, the customer is on their own,and they don't seem to care about "negative advertising" , so one can forget about "repeat customers" or "new customers from positive word of mouth".
Progress :are we progressing forward, or progressing backwards?
