I just got my charter arms off duty an older version with no barrel shroud. Says Stratford Conn on the side of the barrel. This gun will be a backup and will see mostly ankle carry. It loaded with my own swc for defense until I make a run for more ammo.

Awesome.

I just ordered a set of those Pachmayr Compacs for my Bulldog. Tell me, do they feel good in your hand?

Sweet! Looks like mine when I got it years ago. I Buffed it to a Mirror finish & put a set of factory wood grips I refinished on it . I pocket carry it as my summer carry.

It has had a bunch of reloads through it and quite a few boxes of Winchester 38 special +P PDX1 130gr bonded hollow point's through it. I use the PDX1 as my carry ammo for it. No issues. its Pretty stout.

Love it!

Nice gun! I'm intending on putting some Altamont grips on mine. Tried to find boot grips but they Are pricey. I'm hoping to find the Remington golden sabers for this beauty.

Yeah, if you can find some boot grips let me know! I've been on the hunt for smaller grips for IWB carry come summer time for my .44 Bulldoggle.

I have taken the current standard 3 finger Neoprene grip and sanded away the last finger groove, to make a 2 finger "Boot Grip". I have a large woodworking belt sander, and less than a minute of shaping makes a very nice profile. I simply follow the inside contour of the grip frame, leaving maybe 1/16" of material. I like the feel of the standard grip, but its simply too long. The top pic is what the finished grip looks like.

Dont forget that Charter sells a Boot grip. Its even a little smaller than my boot grip. Here is what it looks like, on the same gun. Its a nice grip, but exposes the backstrap. Make sure your grip frame, and main frame have a smooth junction. My Police Undercover didnt meet up very well, and the main frame is razor sharp right there.

Ill look into those grips thanks for the recommendation. I assume they are on charters' website?

This gun feels very solid and as like you would have no problems putting plus p in it, only thing i would change would be a load of remington goldensabers.
