I didn't own a Walther, and I like service-type pistols.
I ran a thread a week or two back and asked everyone's advice on what sort of Walther I might like to have. The favorites seemed to be the P99 and the PPQ.
I thought, "Cool. I can spend a couple of months tracking down a really good deal on one. It will give me something to do."
Total fail. I found a nice PPQ, barely used with the box and all three grips... for $330, within just a few days. I really don't think I would have found another deal that good if I hunted around for another three months, so I went ahead and bought it.
There is almost no finish wear, and almost no wear on the barrel. The posters who told me how good the trigger is weren't kidding. It's a fantastic trigger.
Does anyone have any advice on preferred ammo or holsters? It only came with one magazine. Is there a particularly good place to buy extras, or any particularly good after-market mags? Any advice on shooting or maintenance? I know nothing about these pistols, other than that other board members told me they really liked theirs.
It's the "M2" variety and has the button magazine release instead of the paddle. I hope to shoot it in the next couple of days. Please forgive the weird lighting in the picture; it looks much better in person.
