I've been looking for a nice Model 19 for several years. I have found some but they were quite beat up. Were they a common LE revolver? I agree on the 586/686 My very first revolver was a 586. Wish I would have kept it.
Is this the GT distributors near metric & braker (roughly)? Been there once for speed loaders. Do they have many police trade-ins like this? very interested. I like your 686.
the used gun case is a mixed bag when it comes to revolvers. They sometimes have virtually nothing of interest. Sometimes lots.
They ALWAYS have lots of autos, 3 dozen easy not counting Glocks. You can pick up a used Glock 40 for 300 bucks every day.
I have a circle of stores that I look at. GT is one of them. I also like the pawn shop at Lamar & Payton Gin and a couple on the east side.
most of the revolvers at GT are old. You have to troll the pawn shops to find WWII era stuff. I dress crappy and wear a full size gun when I go to the east side pawn shops.
I snagged one for a sweet price a couple weeks ago.
I call it "stink-butt" because the Hogue grip absolutely REEKS of the cologne the prior owner wore.
I swear, he must have used Eau-de-doodahdey as lubricant and bore solvent.
The S&W-logo Hogue grip is now sequestered in a plastic bag inside a SECOND plastic bag while I await the arrival of a fresh set of Pachmyrs.
Just looking at the pics, I swear I think I can still smell that butt, and it is double-bag stashed in the other room.
Although not as bad as the Model 64 that had obviously had the recoil shield used as a bottle-opener, I think this gun may have been raised by wild swine.
