I made it a point to stop into the Wallmart in Vero beach today. It's on 58th street and route 60. Here is the deal, no waiting on any rifles, with or without a ccw. They do a 30 minute background check, "their own". You walk with the rifle, or shotgun. The ammo section was bare, it get's restocked at 8PM every night. There will be 223 there and shotgun shells tonight from the mouth of the 2 employees who work there. This is a daily occurance.
CCW is not needed, just a picture ID. They had several 12 gauge shotguns including an 870 in stock, none of the rifles were over $500.00 including scopes, they didn not have a 10/22, but did have a $100.00 cricket 22 rifle.
I don't know what other stores do, but up here in Vero they have it down to the above
