I finally got to look at the new Winchester Wildcat .22. It's made in Russia. The finish of the metal was just so so and the wood was a little better. I removed the bolt for inspection and it was just fine. The trigger was very good. The safety is located on the right side of the magazine well. The magazine looked to be ok. The rifle shouldered well and it balanced very well. I think the price was $230., but I'm debating on this one as the metal polishing/blueing wasn't up to what I had expected especially from Browning/Winchester.

Has anyone had a chance to shoot one of these? If so how about some feedback.

This is the same rifle as the Tula TOZ-78, Winchester cleaned them up a little bit and put a little nicer stocks on them. They are generally very well thought of and shoot very well. They are fairly accurate as a generality as well. Last time I looked you could still pick up the TOZ-78 for around $125 or so online.
