If you'd put a current gen G19 up there instead of the ole first gen G17, this poll would have been a runaway landslide. Ok, I exaggerate a bit.

I always thought the Hi Power had a strange look to the hammer, especially when cocked. Like it's just tacked on the back. But it's a classic.

The Beretta always looked so cool to me back in the 80's, but so did the Ferarri Testarossa. That's what happens when you overstylize something. It can go out of fashion.

The SIG used to be functional chic, but then the Glock came along and took over in that category.

The HK looks very futuristic and tactical. Otherwise, it really has nothing going for it, aesthetics-wise.

Can't really decide. I guess I'll vote Glock.

Edit: it would have been fun to see a Hi-Point up there.

Having only ever fired a hi-power... I chose the USP. 'Cause this was based on looks. I'm a sucker for HK. But I'd choose the hi-power as second place. I love mine.

I forgot to add that hi powers look way better with normal sights. That enormous front sight in the OP really detracts from its looks big time.

Edit: Just noticed the new pic, good call. With normal sights I'd say it's even with the beretta, maybe even prettier. But, you should have put one up with wood grips.

The Hi-Power and the Beretta could go either way as 1 and 2.
The HK and the Sig could go either way as 3 and 4.
The Glock is a clear 5.

I would have no problem owning any of the 5. Looks on guns mean less then almost any other trait. From what I have seen and heard, all 5 are solid handguns worthy of shooting.

Geez, I totally expected the 92FS to be in 2nd to the BHP... either way it's really close. Wow.

Admittedly, I'm a little biased as the 92FS was my first pistol.

I would say that it is a tie from me with the Sig, and the Browning.

The BHP is the most elegant, in my opinion, but those grips ruin the whole effect, and need to be replaced. I voted for the BHP.

Second is the Beretta.

If a good 1911 was in the poll, I still would have voted for the BHP, but the 1911 would be a close second, well ahead of the Beretta.

I go for functionality, and in my hands, that is the SIG. I don't generally buy autopistols for prettiness or elegance, so I own six SIGs, a 1911, and no BHPs or Berettas.

Admittedly the later gen glocks do look better than the first gen. The first gen in the picture is by far the ugliest, most spartan of the bunch. But, there is beauty in functionality isn't there?
