I've been a fan of Nighthawk Custom since I picked up a used .45 Talon a while ago. Reading vanfunk's post on the Thunder Ranch Combat Special he picked up chambered in .45 peaked my interest in it. A LGS had a used one chambered in 9mm that looked like it's hardly been fired, and every weekend for the past 3 weekends ran a 20% off all their used gun sale. I held out the first two weekends but caved today as the price was too good to pass up. I justified it by trading in one of my safe queens to offset some of the purchase price. The spots you see on the gun are pieces of a paper towel I used to wipe it down after cleaning it.
I had a chance to take it out to our range this afternoon. It was raining, so I was shooting from a covered area at metal targets which were 40 yards away. I shot 300 trouble free rounds and the gun didn't disappoint. It's as accurate as any gun I own with a fantastic trigger and an incredibly smooth slide. The weather’s supposed to cooperate a little more tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get back out to the range with it then.
