Northern Virginia Shoot?

As winter sets upon us here in the DC Area, I was wondering if anyone is interested in holding a Northern Virginia THR shoot . . . probably at the NRA but maybe outside at Clarks could be interesting too . . .

Not sure when the Suprebowl is, but maybe the day before that. Any takers? Any suggestions as to time and place??

Not sure if you are still up for doing this after your recent experience (really sorry you and others were there for that). However, if you are, I'd definitely be interested. Just can't make next weekend (11th-13th) as I will be out-of-town. Still can't believe no one has responded to this thread yet. IIRC, you responded to the last proposed NoVA shoot (started by yours truly) but could not make it. Fortunately, another forum member was able to head out with me as I shot a firearm for the very first time.

BTW, Titus if you're reading this, I want to thank you for helping out a newb. Since then, I've picked-up a .22 (just got a 9mm) and have been practicing with Smurfslayer and the rest of the Friday Night Group each week. Hope all is well with you.
 
I'm interested but scheduling is so hit and miss with me, no pun intended, since I got a new owner-- er, I mean employer. :fire:

So keep us posted, and hopefully I can make it.

Well, since only Countertop has suggested a day/time, I will throw one out just to get some reactions. Since I can't make my regular shoot this Friday, how about this Thursday (the 10th) in the evening sound? A weekday evening might alleviate problems with finding open lanes. I am neutral as to which range we go to but do like the NRA set-up (I've only been to NRA & BRA, never been to Clarke's).
 
The NRA would work and Thursday would be ideal for me. I don't recommend Clarks during the week because they close at 5:30pm.

That really sucks. But don't give up just yet. I am also free Wednesday evening so let's throw it out there too. Once we get some more folks to reply, we'll see what we can do. So far we have two potential nights for an evening shoot over at the NRA:

Wednesday (the 9th) - so far two votes (Dev and me)
Thursday (the 10th) - so far two votes (Chris and me; yup, I am voting twice) :neener:
 
Sorry guys, I can't make it during the week this week. I'm at work until 10:30pm this week for a show. Have a great time!
 
I normally could do Wednesday (after 8) or Friday(any time), but not this week :( . I have to do a school project on Wednesday, and I have class until 10:00 on Thursday. If you guys want to shoot next week, I’m all for it.

I have wanted to meet the Virginia THR's for a while. With the exception of running into Dragonrider in Virginia Arms, and a few people that used to post on firing line, I’ve never met any of you guys and would love to.( I think :D )
 
Sapp, my sentiments exactly. Hopefully, these dates will suffice to give most folks a chance to attend.

Okay guys, next time this sort of thread gets a formal vote option. However, I will take care of these duties this time. OK, now we have three options:

Wednesday (the 9th) - two votes (Dev and me)
Thursday (the 10th) - two votes (Chris and me)
Wednesday (the 16th) - one vote (Sappleader)

I think we'll keep taking votes til tomorrow as lots of folks check the forum on Sunday. Therefore, please chime in fellow NoVAns & MDers!

I can make it Wed. 02-09 at the NRA range. I will bring a friend so count us as 2. What time?

You got it, hightech! I am thinking that sometime around 6PM might be good? I am certainly open to other suggestions as NRA hours on Wednesday are 5pm-10PM. In any event, here are the results thus far:

Wednesday (the 9th) - four votes (Dev, hightech & friend, me)
Thursday (the 10th) - two votes (Chris and me)
Wednesday (the 16th) - two votes (Sappleader, Dev)

If it turns out to be a split between the 9th & 16th, I could certainly attend both. But if I had to choose, the 9th gets preference. Still time for other folks to make their voices heard. ;)
 
I would like to join in but right now it looks tough. The 9th is Ash Wednesday and I have to be on travel the 10th and 16th. In the future I would be happy to meet up at a range.

Sounds great, Chris! Looks like its shaping up for the 9th. However, I will still take votes tonight. If we get a decent group willing to go on the 16th then we'll do that as well! :D

Here's our total thus far:

Thursday (the 10th) - two votes (Chris and me)
Wednesday (the 16th) - two votes (Sappleader, Dev)
 
Don't forget that next weekend is the Chantilly show which runs Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.

I just thought I would throw that out in case anyone wants to plan around it.

Looks good for the 9th but I probably will be more like 6:30 depending on VA traffic.
