Wife and I did our part today from behind enemy lines (the New York border). A Democrat friend of mine didn't vote because "Democrats always win in NY anyway." If only they all started thinking that way. . .
Voted here in Florida too. I voted mostly (R) to help keep Florida free. I also voted NO on amend 3. My reasoning is that a vote of yes allows a minority to prevent what a majority want. Ex. 41% would have power to keep 59% of people from getting laws they want passed. I also voted yes on the Amendment to limit/prohibit Eminent Domian abuse.
I lost my DL on Friday (making a purchase at the gun store!) and had to use my state CHL as my ID when I voted.
The LOL (little old lady) that was checking IDs stared at my CHL for a full minute, and then, quivering with fear, asked me in trembling hushed tones. 'You, you, you didn't bring it in here, did you?". The terror on her face was palpable.
I smiled broadly and assured her that, being both a school and a Federal polling place, I would not do such a thing in accordance with the laws of the land. But I was sorely tempted to leap up and yell, "EVERYBODYLOOKOUTRUNRUNRUNTHERESAGUNINHEREANDITMAYJUSTDECIDETOGOOFFONITSOWN!!!!!!"
Voted just right after the polls opened this morning. I vote in every election, but this one's special.
We have a POS, two-term, Democrat former governor running for a third term. He nearly succeeded in flushing Alaska down the turlet the last time and wants to return with the plunger to finish the job.
