At lunch today I stopped in at a pawn shop close to work. I hadn’t been in the shop in about eight months. As I was looking around the manager comes out and tells me hi. He asked where I’ve been, I just said, been busy.
We shoot the bull a little and I see a Magpul MOE rifle buttstock in the case with a price tag of $24.99. I saw that there was a buffer tube and two QD sling mounts on the stock. It was OD Green, wish it was black. I asked to look at it. It was marked as a carbine stock, :D and was like new.
I told him I would take it. He rang it up and that will be $21. :D An even better deal.
Now I’m not sure if I’m going to use it for an upcoming build or trade it off.

Might as well build it.

That reminds me, I still have a Flat Spot weld together lower I did for shiggles and gits awhile back, need to finish it. Thinking total Road Warrior/Serenity/other dystopia type theme with a DOM tube upper sporting a triangular handguard made from hot rolled square tube cut & bent, a welded on receiver extension with steel butt plate. Not sure what else, but it'll come to me!

I mean, for that good of a deal, you've pretty much got to finish building the lower... and then that lower's going to need an upper ;)

Enjoy the build!

Heck, I've bought a gun just because I had left over ammunition I could not shoot. Having an extra stock is more than enough reason to build. I've built around a scope before. Go nuts, what's the worst that can happen, you'll have another AR?

I bought a bear creek side charging upper to try on one of my ARs. I like it, but now I have a spare upper. Hmmm. ..300bo? 9mm? 6.8xx?

At one time I collected .45 brass from the range. When I had about 1,000 rounds, I decide to load 50 of them. Then I announced to the wife I NEEDED, had to have, a 1911 so I could test fire the ammo.

Any excuse will do.

No wife. No excuse needed for anything I do.

If you don’t end up using it I will give you your money back. I paid 25 for the one I have (black) and live it. I’m going to redo my carbine into a rifle, and plan to use the same stock.
