NRA Legal Victory

Unfortunately people don't read the facts but go on here say. I could not find anything in the court report that showed the NY AG was on a Witch Hunt. Basically it showed a gentleman using a private jet paid for by the NRA to move his family around the country at great expense. I have no idea why Mr. LaPierre would need a private jet because of security reasons; basically he the V.P. for the AARP for guns. I would not have any problems with him flying first class, but the rest I don't thinks so.

Again the bottom line is He has been in that position to long especially without any great results. We definitely need some new young blood in the organization because like myself the members that joined in the 1960's are on their way out.

If he does not answer to the BOD as indicated above, please let me know who selects the EP.
EP is selected by a Selection Committee, which nominally includes members of the BoD. The Selection Committee votes, and presents it's choice to the BoD as a fait acompli. It's very much like how the Queen approves the election of the British Prime Minister.

The BoD is the "public face" of the NRA, and is somewhat insulated from having to "run" the organization, and thus, the internal selection system exists. A number of Boards have been seated and have been unable to unseat WLP. Despite all the many problems, public and private with WLP.

Witch hunt, huh?
There is ample evidence of the corruption of the EP circle, and it was becoming ever more public well before Letitia brought her politically honed axe to bear.

Had the NYAG only made a case against the public corruption, that would have been scandal enough--but also well within the purview of the office. Expanding that to the destruction and dissolution of the loathed and hated NRA is what turned this from a legitimate legal issue and into a witch hunt.

If the enormous pile of allegations against WLP & his inner circle are proven correct (a highly likely occurrence) then, they should be, by all means, punished. The other 5-7 million members of the NRA are not guilty of the crimes alleged of the EP circle, and should not be punished for them. Seeking to punish the innocent does rather fit the definition of "witch hunt."

I have No doubt that her intention was to destroy the NRA starting off because it would have definitely gave her street credit with the Left; knowing that our NRA house should have been as clean as New Snow. It's not and we are going to further problems until we get it fixed. If you remember in the Navy we would discharge a person for the Good of the Service. That's what needs to happen here.

NRA corruption may have spread outside the EP circle to the Board of Directors. When the NRA dumpster fire began burning in earnest; nearly one fourth of BOD members were receiving money from the NRA for various "services". NRA BOD member Karl Malone said this:

“If these allegations are correct and 18 board members received pay, you’re damn right I am [concerned],” Malone told the Post. “If it’s correct, the members who pay their dues should be damn concerned, too.”

When a BOD member complained about the running of the organization, he/she was removed from committee assignments.

The good news that Karl Racine, the Washington DC Attorney General, has asked for court intervention in the case involving the plundering of the NRA Foundation

WHEREFORE the District requests that this Court:

a) Impose a constructive trust, for the benefit of the Foundation, over Foundation funds improperly diverted to the NRA in violation of District law and the Foundation’s nonprofit purpose;

b) Modify Foundation governance policies to ensure proper independence from the NRA;

c) Appoint an independent receiver or other Court-supervised official to: i. Monitor all Foundation financial decisions and transactions; ii. Oversee and Monitor the revision and modification of the Foundation-NRA relationship to ensure modification of governance policies result in independence from the NRA, including replacement of Trustee membership, and in the operation and management of the Foundation’s affairs;

d) Require all current Foundation Board of Trustees and Officers to partake in charitable nonprofit corporate governance training; and

e) Order such other relief as the Court determines to be just and proper.
